About Me
My name is Nicole Bentley, and I own and operate NB Piano Studio.
I started taking piano lessons at just 5 years old and fell in love instantly. My parents always say that they never had to remind me to practice; I was already at the piano playing on my own.
I continued to play through childhood and eventually wound up attending the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts for high school, majoring in Piano Performance. After my time there, I went on to major in Piano Performance at the College of Southern Nevada. I ended up moving to Utah to finish my studies at the University of Utah and discover what this beautiful state had to offer. I joined a prestigious mentorship program for my piano studies outside of school which allowed me to study and obtain a degree in Psychology.

My studies in Psychology allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of childhood development and the processes in our brain that allow us to learn, retain information, and dive into flow-state while playing the piano. I use what I learned in college to adapt my teaching style to different learning needs. I pride myself in displaying an incredible amount of patience and understanding for students and their process of learning.

When I am not teaching or playing the piano, I enjoy hiking, playing with my dogs, skiing, and cooking. Another fun fact about me is I was an equestrian for 18 years, and have my black belt in karate!

Many people tell the story of their piano learning experience: they took piano lessons as a kid, but for various reasons did not enjoy it and quit. And every single person who has told me this same story, wishes that they had continued. I am determined to break this cycle. I listen to the stories people tell and learn from it. I use my age to my advantage by presenting as a very bubbly, relatable, young teacher and strive to create a fun, enjoyable, and safe atmosphere for all of my students.

I sincerely hope I get the chance to work with you.
